What needs to change for Ukraine’s organic business to grow? On September 23, this question will be at the heart of the country’s leading organic sector event — the “Organic Day in Ukraine” conference.
This year, the Ukrainian Public Association “Organic Initiative”, with the support of Switzerland and Germany, will bring together on one stage those who shape the conditions for the development of the organic market and those who work in it every day: government and business representatives, international partners, retailers, experts, and members of the academic community.
The discussion will feature representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, as well as executives of leading organic companies.
THE KEY ISSUES SHAPING THE ORGANIC SECTOR — ALL IN ONE EVENT
At the heart of the discussion are the challenges facing businesses today and the changes the market needs. The agenda will cover barriers to growth and government support, the prospects for the domestic market, European integration, exports and access to finance, as well as practical cases from organic producers — highlighting the challenges they face and the solutions they use to overcome them.
A key focus of the conference will be direct dialogue between businesses and government representatives. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions to policymakers, voice the barriers their companies face, and contribute to finding practical solutions for market development.
The programme will feature interactive panel discussions with open dialogue with the audience, practical business cases, and experience sharing.
The conference will provide a platform for professional discussion of the key challenges facing the organic sector, the development of practical solutions, and the identification of priorities for the future development of Ukraine’s organic sector.
European integration and its practical implications for organic businesses will be another important topic. Participants will discuss changes in the organic sector related to the alignment of Ukrainian legislation with EU requirements, as well as new requirements and opportunities for Ukrainian producers.
The conference will conclude with the Ukraine Organic Awards, recognising leaders of the organic market and those making a significant contribution to the development of the sector.

The conference “Organic Day in Ukraine” in 2026 will be organised by Organic Initiative Public Association under the patronage of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine with the support of Switzerland within the framework of the Swiss-Ukrainian programme “Higher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sectors in Ukraine” (QFTP) implemented by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL, Switzerland) in partnership with SAFOSO AG (Switzerland) and Germany within the framework of the “German-Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue” (APD Ukraine) project, financed by the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Regional Identity (BMLEH) based on a decision by the Federal Government.
