The Ukrainian organic sector has a strong production and export potential. The domestic organic market is only gaining momentum in its development. The sector is actively working to raise consumers’ awareness about the benefits of organic products, develop brand recognition, and systematically promote certified products to make them more accessible and popular in Ukraine.
What is it and why?
Organic Initiative Public Association, with the support of Switzerland, has launched the rating “Top 20 Organic Brands of Ukraine”. Its goal is to increase visibility of organic brands among consumers, strengthen trust in certified products through public recognition, and raise awareness of organic labelling. It is not just an award for companies, but a tool that helps to show the development of the sector in a transparent and honest way and to recognise the brands that shape the culture of organic consumption in Ukraine.
Following the announcement of the rating results, the Organic Initiative will launch a communication campaign on digital channels and social media to promote organic products among end consumers in Ukraine.
Evaluation methodology
The evaluation methodology was based on a combination of analytical data and independent evaluation of companies by the jury according to clearly defined criteria.
The basic data for the initial selection were provided by Organic Standard LLC. Due to the confidential nature of the statistics, the company did not disclose specific figures, but provided a list of the top 30 brands by two indicators: amount of products sold (tonnes) and sales value (UAH).
At the second stage, the jury of five independent experts evaluated the brands based on product range development, representation in retail chains, marketing and communication activities (including social media analysis), sales volumes and value, as well as their own expert opinion.
